Alaska Board Room Lounge at SEA Review

Introduction

I was on a MR to ANC and had a few hours in Seattle on my way back. i decided to go for a run and stopped by the Alaska Board Room Lounge at SEA. You can get access if you have:

  • Priority Pass members with valid Priority Pass membership card
  • Delta Sky Club members when traveling on Delta or Alaska Airlines
  • Lounge Club members with valid Lounge Club Membership Card
  • American Admirals Club members welcome when traveling on American operated flights

I got access with the Lounge Club Card, which is free with the Chase Ink cards. It allows you two free passes with guests. I am up to 3 Chase Ink cards and I have only used two of these passes.

There is a small lobby area with the attendants to the right. There is also a small gift shop just after the doors. The gift shop is open to everyone so I bought a bear the night before in case I would forget this morning. They have a collection of other items. The bear with the flight jacket (brown or white) was $12.

There are two levels. The lower level is the quiet level while the upper level is not so quiet with TVs. Both levels are very similar. There is more food and there is a bar on the upper level. I was only there for breakfast. Both levels offered a good view of the immediate terminal area.

For breakfast, there was pastries, muffins, bagels, soda, brewed coffee and a coffee machine that does espresso and other hot drinks. There was also a pancake maker on the upper level.

Right in the lobby before the stairs are two conference rooms that can be booked. I am not sure if you need to pay for them and if you need to reserve ahead of time. I am also not sure if you need club access to use or reserve or book the rooms.

Lower Level:

There is the usual coffee and soft drinks with small cold breakfast items here. There is also a fridge of yogurts. The orange creme flavor yogurt was amazing. Tastes just like orange creme ice cream but in yogurt form. I ate two of these. There is also cream cheese for bagels. Pastries are by the soda machine.

Upper level:

There are TVs and a bar on this level. They also have a fridge on this level as well and there is oatmeal available. It is the instant type that you mix with hot water (not pictured). But the amazing thing was the pancake maker! It is automatic and every time you push the button, you get two mini pancakes. I personally ate about 8 of them. They are pretty small.

Bar on the Upper Level:

The bar has a good selection of complementary alcoholic beverages. There also have a good list of premium drinks as well. I saw a few people with complimentary bloody mary’s. I got a mimosa, which also was complimentary but not on the list. The bar tender told me that the free mimosa was made with house liquor but there is one made with premium liquor as well. In a mimosa, its hard to tell.

Despite what is shown in the picture, the bar is not self serve. The bar tender was nice enough to show a spread of liquors they have. You need to be served so don’t just start pouring yourself a drink.

If you want a drink you don’t see on the list displayed by the bar, make sure to ask as some complimentary drinks are not on the list.

Summary:

I thought this was a great domestic lounge with free alcoholic drinks (no set limit unless you are clearly intoxicated), a good selection of food and a great view. I am not sure what is served for lunch or dinner but it would be on par with what they have for breakfast. The lounge was a bit crowded when I was there on a Sunday morning.
